How to copy hashtags from TikTok or Instagram

Hashtags live inside the caption. Copy the public caption first, then keep the # tokens or strip them so you only paste the sentence.

If the app lets you select text, highlight from the first # to the last. That is tedious on long TikTok captions that mix a joke with a block of tags.

After Caption Copy loads a public TikTok or Instagram caption, the result screen includes Show hashtags — “Strip or keep hashtag tokens.”

• On: copy the caption including hashtags.
• Off: copy the caption with those tokens removed.

• This toggle is for TikTok and Instagram captions. YouTube uses title and description fields instead.
• Tags in the middle of a sentence are treated as hashtag tokens when stripping.

Common mistakes

• Expecting a separate “hashtag scraper” for comments. This is caption text only.
• Turning the switch after you already copied — copy again after you change it.
